The Savethehumans.com
Self-Gratification
of the Day Award

For the most unnecessary - but coolest - product, website, or doodad of the day.

The Winner for November 14, 2001

The Simpsons Archive

This archive is unreal. Seriously, it doesn't exist.

No, actually, it's unreal in the sense of being "unfuckingbelievable". If you thought you were a Simpsons fan, then prepare to be humbled. Don't even wait. Just get down on your knees now.

The Simpsons Archive is a fan-created monument, currently receiving over one-million page views per month. I counted 40 editors and staff members on their contact page, and I could have wasted the rest of the night on their Religion References page alone.

Tell me this Homer quote isn't beautiful:

"In doggie heaven, there are mountains of bones, and you can't turn around without sniffing another dog's butt."

Or this one from Bart, when he's in Sunday School and the subject of the day is "hell":

"Would you eventually get used to it like in a hot tub?

and...

"Are there any pirates in hell?"

Or, my favorite Simpsons quote of all time, from Bart (asking the Sunday School teacher about who can get into Heaven):

"How about a robot with a human brain?"

This website does the Simpsons justice. If you can't kill time on this site, you might as well kill yourself.
