Self-Gratification
of the Day Award

For the most unnecessary - but coolest - product, website, or doodad of the day.

The Winner for May 25, 2001

Brussel's Bonsai Nursery

Today's award goes to "North America's Largest Importer and Grower of Quality Bonsai".

Bonsai trees can be absolutely beautiful, though after shelling out $1,300 for one little tree, your capacity for recognizing their beauty may decrease drastically. It might be a good deal cheaper just to settle for looking at big trees from afar.

Of the trees shown here on this page, one is $1,300, another one is $125, and another is as low as $45. If you can't tell the difference, then has Brussel's got a deal for you.

Even if you know for sure you're not going to buy one, you should check out their site. They have some incredible photos of incredibly overpriced 50-year-old trees.
