Well to start off with, I just could not have ever! made another human being a slave. Something I don't understand. How can white folks get mad with Halle over something they did to her themselves they never would ever accept our beracials, so the black race always had to step up the the plate.. If you think that speech was somthing, you must not have heard her speech at the Essence awards. I heard she flew from London to be there. Her white half have called her the N-word, They have told her that she's black and they don't want to use her in their movies. Speeching of racism, they brought that up before she won her Essence award. I would love to see her Embrace her other half but I think its going to have to be some healing there. I think she's hurt deeply by racism. We need to all come together, and stop the hate. its not about color, because we are all God's creation,the human race. Love all,

I'm a regular reader of most of you're articles and mostly try to take an impartial view but the "Enough Photos of Firemen and Flags" article in many ways is just purely FLAWED.Contarary to belief you at NOT the only county in the world to be hit by a major terrorist attack, hell while I type there have been at LEAST 14....15....16....17 terrorist attacks in Isriel, A terrorist attack on N.Ireland this week killing a 9yr old boy and 62 yr old women. The difference is while nations like this pick them selves up and dust themselves up to get on like this, oooohhhh no, not America, they have to do it Hollywood style. Poignant pictures filling every page of paper during September (Making Birthday cards too god damn hard to find) Slow-motion action replay's of the planes striking the tower's and witnesses getting make up on set for news programs months later, plus, not a week a go I saw a documentry "How the tower's fell" showing floor by floor virtual "SFX" of the crash. O.k you fucked up big time of security detail in the past on the FBI and airport, but did you sleep easy at night while the FBI and president churned out Terrorist warnings by Terrorist warnings of Islamic fundamentalists having a free for all? And now you're calling for full blown war because a dictatorship country once knowingly held a bearded old man with a liver disease, which you now call a "Terrorist Geinous" cause he can plan a strike against the "Great big mighty unkillable ol'd US of A" If thats you're attitute to a terrorist attack, then you should order all Texan hicks to grab their shotguns, aim for the skies and shoot down everyplane that is not made of glass, so they can see if there is terrorists inside with turbans and beards. I'm not a bad guy, I feel sorry for all the people who died and their family's and the brave NYFD who ran inside a crumbling building to save lives. Yet I feel much more sorry for the newly liberated Men and Women of Afghanistan who may come home to find a rubble with an US flag flying, only to tell the celabrating soldiers that their basement did not hide Osama Bin Laden, but did house their only son, only to have the US vice-vice-vice-vice-vice-vice head of state department to issue them a statement on a peice of cardboard wrote in red white and blue pen "Sorry afghan guys about the death, but if Al-Quiada hide in your county without your knowledge of where they are, you deserve it"

I saw the Roth article about how he doesn't like the "Black guy who doesn't fit in" movies. I couldn't agree more.
I am a Black man, educated, determined and ambitious, and it frustrates me to no end that I have to see these images that only serve to present an inaccurate image that holds me and my peers back.
The thing that hollywood doesn't understand is that there is a significant number of Black Americans that go to school or work, don't get into trouble, and have accents that differ from the LA Ghetto or Southern dialects you always see on tv. I know this because I grew up around them, in my family and in my neighborhood. Ordinary people: some smart, some not so smart, just as you'd find in any population.
The problem is that so many hollywood executives live and have lived in seclusion from the rest of the world, they don't even realize that the 'teeming masses' beneath them have more variety in lifestyle, or that many of the barriers between explicitly "white" or "black" behavior have melded, to the degree that the same accents and mannerisms are seen in both groups in integrated areas.
Finally, although the producers and directors are responsible for choosing the images they want to project, Martin Lawrence and Chris Tucker are responsible for accepting those roles. For them to knowingly sell out as they do makes them far more racist than their ignorant counterparts could ever be.

Just read the article entitled "Obligatory Halle Berry Comments", and was just wondering whether it is perhaps you, yourself, that is suffering from a lack of self-knowledge. After all, you appear to lack any knowledge of world events.
How DARE you proclaim that "Black actors do have the freedom to have acting gigs".
1st question: Are you black?
Second question: Can u act?
3rd and most important: Have you attempted to get a decent role in a film/play with the above attributes? Because guess what, Mr Roth? I know plenty of people who are still struggling today to get sufficient parts as actors, because they "don't quite match up" to what's being looked for. Furthermore, how many mixed race people have you ever seen counted as 'white' in the US? Let's not get silly, here, cos u know as well as I do that if (in your hypothetically ridiculous world) black peeople had been the slave owners and whites the slaves, someone of the same complexion as Halle Berry would still be counted as black!
There's so much else, I could say to argue against your incredibly ignorant points, however people such as yourself tire me.. I'm bored hearing the same repetitive "I'm not racist but...", "ethnic minorities have so many opportunities... we're all equal", "people are making a big deal out of nothing"- kinda crap!

No - no - no Adam: There's nothing wrong with the conclusions of the article! It's the (not-so) key facts that get messed up in this one.
First of all, my childhood memories of "Transformers" do not contain any episodes where Optimus Prime became evil. A quick trip to the Transformers Archives (www.tfarchive.com) confirms my memories.
And also - Sony doesn't make any money off selling its Playstation 2 consoles - no console maker does. The revenue comes from royalties and licenses for games A) That Sony creates B)Whose developers pay Sony to approve their games for PS2 use. Then, Sony gets a portion of their subsequent sale: (unless the game being sold is 'The Fantastic Four" for the PSX - 'cause no one would ever buy that game!)
So, in short there is only 'software' revenue for Sony - while it loses money on every console it sells.

Subject: The Anti-Stifle
I have tried to stifle the urge to add my propaganda to the page, as I've been so impressed by the many pro-Israel responses, but I've managed to find a few inconsistencies in the pro-PA submissions that just can't post without resistance.
Number one, the argument paralleling Nazi holocaust to Israeli occupation is a fallacy of logic. Jews were not blowing up restaurants and shopping venues in Nazi Germany looking for a place to call home. Had the Jews initiated some sort of aggressive action towards the Germans we would not have had a morality issue drawing interest to the Germans for ridding themselves of the Jews. In fact, the cleansing was based on racial superiority over an already established people. Clearly the differences between the Palestinian suicide bombers, or as I like to call them "fuckin' terrorist cowards", and the Jews of the holocaust are unmistakably recorded, historically. I'd like not to have a discussion here about holocaust revisionism.
Number two, Palestine is not now, nor was it ever established as a united front. This faction-laden TERRITORY was fighting contently among itself over land until the Oslo Wars were conceptualized as a ploy to create the illusion of Israel, the U.S, and their friendlies as being oppressive and arrogant with power. This is done by creating a unified and identifiable objection to the norm.
While it is no stretch for the logical minded to conceive this, for those who are not grasping the concept I recommend attending a leadership/team seminar. Individuals are divided into groups, given names or numbers and then presented with tasks, trials, tribulations, and the outcome is a quickly identifiable team struggling for equality. It is apparent that while Palestine itself was ignorant to the manipulation by the Wafk, the tactic worked and worked well. Palestine is not known in reputable news sources for their internal conflicts but overwhelmingly for their unified struggle against the oppressive Israelis, and their ugly American companions.
Number three, I appreciate the thoughtless rambling presented by Carlos below. Carlos left the beautiful opportunity for JR to point out the logical inconsistencies in the value of cause vs. the value of life. The fact that not all men are rapists does not negate the fact that women have a right to safety, (an excellent analogy JR,) just as the fact that not all Palestinians are terrorist pussies does not negate the fact that Israel has a right to safety. As the very competent JR, below stated, Israel has a very well trained army, and only by grace and restraint are so many Palestinian lives spared. Without Israel's restraint in the face of imminent danger, Palestine, united or not, could kiss its ass goodbye.

I for one was going to abstain from watching the olympics before I found out where they were going to be. And I live in Toronto. (If Mel Lastman didn't at least get us Wrestlemania, I would have saw him hang.)
But don't abstain from Chinese food. A lot of Chinese restaurants are run by guys who who left the country for the same reason we're boycotting the olympics.
And don't do the "In Bed" thing with the fortune cookie. It's been done to death, and it's not THAT funny.
