Mr. Joe Smith, a resident of 422 Orchard Lane in Trenton, New Jersey, is being evicted from his own backyard. The move comes after a declaration by President Clinton to make Smith's backyard a national monument.
"We need to preserve our nation's history," Clinton said at the backyard fence destruction ceremony. "The memory of George Washington's historical march through the Smith backyard can now forever be remembered and visited by generations to come."
Smith said he plans to yell obscenities out his window at National Park officials as they stand guard in his backyard. "They're not taking my property without a fight," Smith said.
Environmentalists and other anti-Americans hail Clinton's move as "a landmark in national monument declaration". The activist groups insist that no pun is intended.
