"I recalled a commercial I had frequently seen while watching my morning game shows," Smith said. "It was my recollection that when my bank says no, Champion says yes."
Champion took Smith's information over the phone, then returned his call after doing a brief credit check. According to sources, the Champion representative's exact words to Smith were, "No."
Champion was contacted for comment. "Patrick's credit sucked ass," a Champion spokeswoman said. "If you think we're going to lend money to that goddamn leech, you've got another thing coming."
Smith said he would return to watching game shows and give up the idea of buying a new home.
