New Ad for RU-486 Pill Under Fire from "Pro-Life" Christian Groups

by Aaron Kendall

In order to make the controversial RU-486 abortion pill more commercial and more accepted, new ads have been developed for television and for posted advertisements. One such commercial begins with a woman rubbing her abdomen with one hand, making a grimacing face, and then holding her hands in front of her while saying "I've got a fetus this big. Can anything help me get rid of this little bastard?"

The commercial then ends with: "Little. Yellow. Abortion." Christian groups have reacted with a high degree of anger towards the commercial, declaring it as "blasphemous" and "an abomination in the eyes of God". In addition, a lawyer for the Christian right who represents the Lord Himself has moved to sue the pharmaceutical company for "wrongful" business practice.

"You see, the abortion pill would rid the world of unwanted children," explained God's lawyer. "And, with less unwanted children, we have less desperate souls who yearn to cling to anything that seems to give them affection and meaning, including religion. So, clearly, you can see that this could ruin the business of the Lord."
