Tim Burton to Direct Film Version of "The Emperor's New Clothes"
Mike Leigh "Pissed", Sources Say

by Jason Roth and Aaron Kendall

Tim Burton has announced the production of a new claymation movie, tentatively entitled "The Emperor's New Skinless Body". In Burton's version of the classic children's fable, the Emperor will not be naked; he will walk around without his skin.

"The main characters of the story convince the Emperor to skin himself alive," said the dark director Burton. "You see, the Emperor displays his ignorance of the virtue of compassion as he wanders around town dragging his entrails behind him and exposing the cold blackness of his heart."

Burton announced his new film amidst the controversy that he and British director Mike Leigh are in fierce competition to depict accurately "the most pathetic examples of humanity ever to hit the silver screen." According to Leigh's self-deprecation manager, the working title of Leigh's current project is "Laura and Mike", a classic moral ambiguity play illustrating the age-old adage "there's some bad in the best of us." Leigh will star as himself.
