You're against piracy?? This is the lamest attack on Napster (or
Napster users) I've ever seen. I don't use Napster not because of the
time it will take me to use, but because it is wrong. I don't make B.S.
rationalizations about it either. Copyrighted music is not mine to take,
or to share. I pay for the things I own, thank you.
The main reason
Napster is so popular is because youth in this country are not taught by
adults what private property means, or that music is a kind of
property. In high school, I used to make copies of other people's music
onto tape. My parents didn't give a flying you-know-what, so it was up to
me to come to the conclusion that it is wrong. Adults have no excuse.
Every defense of Napster (as it exists now, as a "free" service) is just
a rationalization. And everybody knows it. If you want to "share" some
music, then make your own and retain the rights to it. If you want to be
some kind of Marxist idiot, feel free. But don't force other musicians to
give up their work. Let them make that decision.
