The "Fetish" Fetishists
Our Cultural Antagonism Towards Interracial Sexual Preference

Random House defines "fetish" as: "any object, idea, etc., eliciting unquestioning reverence or devotion."

Joe Schmo defines "fetish" as: "what a person of one race has if he or she finds too many members of another race sexually attractive."

Thesis: Joe Schmo is a fucking moron. I think I can make a case that Joe Schmo is a racist moron, but let's focus on the fucking moron part first.

There exists a popular trend, not to be a racial fetishist, but to accuse others of being one. A sexual attraction to people of a different race is synonymous with perversion, according to trashy magazine articles, jealous black women and Asian men, and female writers who have achieved the double header of being both stupid and ugly, and now get off on inventing excuses for why men of their own race choose to ignore them. (Sorry, ladies, it's not that we're ignoring your mind. Believe me, we've noticed it, and it's just as repulsive as that carcass it's encased in.)

There is another, more honest, group of individuals who are helping to perpetuate the "interracial sexual attraction is perversion" myth. Those are the individuals, apparently independent Asian women for the most part, who have noticed a real commonality among their courtiers: the desire to use unflattering cultural stereotypes in a mate as a means to evade their own psychological failures. E.g., "I have no self-esteem, so give me a subservient geisha chick to help me pretend otherwise."

All of these groups are wrong. An appreciation for, or even preference for, the physical qualities of another race is not necessarily a sign you need a brain transplant.

An undeniable - no, make that "plain as fucking day" - aspect of sexual attraction is: the specific physical qualities one finds attractive. I hope I'm not shattering any major cultural myths when I say that slanty eyes and tight asses are two such qualities. Physical characteristics can be appreciated apart from the soul that possesses them. A preference for black, brown, or pale skin does not necessarily equal a preference for a particular personality type.

If a white woman generally had a preference for white men, would she be accused of preferring a "white mentality"? Hell, no. If she were, she would rightly call her accuser a racist. The reasons are twofold. First, the accuser's concept of a "white mentality" can be discarded as racist (and non-existent) on its face. Second, it is considered "normal" to be physically attracted to members of one's own race, so to assume that this particular woman attaches any mental traits to her own race is arbitrary and irrelevant.

So, here we go again with the bogus, bromidic concept "normal" dictating what we should or should not do. The premise underlying the "interracial sexual attraction is perversion" credo is that sexual attraction to members of your own race is psychologically "normal", so anything else is a neurosis.

Now, I don't profess to know the process of psychological development that explains how every physical characteristic becomes attractive or not attractive to every human being, or even to myself for that matter. If I were born and raised on a planet full of women with green pyramids on their chests, who knows? Maybe I'd be more attracted to those then to the conventional fleshy round things I've grown up with.

But the burden of proof is upon the fetish-accusation fetishists to explain why intraracial sexual attraction is preferable to the interracial sort.

And this is where the fetish fetishists' racism comes in. Let's go back to point number two, above:

"Second, it is considered "normal" to be physically attracted to members of one's own race, so to assume that this particular woman attaches any mental traits to her own race is arbitrary and irrelevant."

Such assumptions about a woman's thoughts, made purely based on her skin color, would be considered racist. Yet this is exactly what the fetish fetishists do all the time when more than one race is involved. E.g., the black man must be with the white woman because he thinks it's good for his "social status"; the white guy must be with the Indian woman because he wants a mate who is submissive, etc. These assumptions are equally unfounded.

So what if you like - or even prefer - the physical characteristics of another race? People who have a problem with it reveal their own racist attitudes about which sexual relationships are permissible (i.e., "normal") and which are not.

Nobody seems to think there's anything wrong with liking blonde hair and blue eyes. What's wrong with liking brown hair and brown skin?

In the interest of full disclosure, I fully admit appreciating attractive women of every race.
