The Great Cincinnati Nike Party
Black Rioting and Athletic Shoe Stores

by Jason Roth

The second paragraph of an April 13 Reuters article reads:

[Cincinnati] Mayor Charles Luken said the situation appeared much quieter than in the previous three nights, when gangs of black youths went on a looting and destructive rampage in their protest over the killing of an unarmed black man by a white policeman.

The final paragraph of the same article reads:

[Police Lt. Ray] Ruberg said police made 82 arrests Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Looting, vandalism, arson and harassment of white motorists occurred in several areas. Athletic shoe stores were especially targeted by the looters, Ruberg said.

Now let's refer to old faithful: Webster's Dictionary. Here's the relevant definition of "protest":

the act of objecting or a gesture of disapproval <resigned in protest>; especially: a usually organized public demonstration of disapproval

Now let me pose a question. Am I really the only one who finds the word "protest" to be a rather strange word choice for a description of gangs of black criminals stealing footwear?

When I first found out that OJ Simpson got away with first-degree murder, I had other things on my mind besides the Reebok Pump or whether a new pair of Nikes would improve my racquetball skills. I didn't seek to gain any particular material possession in order to express a "gesture of disapproval".

I used my brain to communicate ideas expressing disagreement with the decision.

Another thing I didn't do was to go outside and shoot random black police officers. Nor did I violently attack random black people on the street or pull them out of their cars and beat them. No curfew was necessary to keep my violent, racist, brainless ass off the street because I couldn't stifle the muscles in my legs from carrying me through the windows of a local shoe outlet store and over to the Rockport display for all the wingtips I could stuff down the crotch of my baggy jeans, before calming down and gently shifting the locale of my public demonstration of disapproval to some nearby alley where I could bash some innocent black man in the head with a baseball bat.

Let's cut to the chase. The racists in Cincinnati are the black mobs that were looking for an excuse for starting fires, breaking windows, stealing athletic shoes, and oh yeah, why don't we throw in shooting a white police officer. (Who was lucky to be saved by the bullet-proof vest he was wearing.)

What those mindless black hoodlums participated in was not a "protest". It's called "mob violence". Those criminals should be pushed, shoved, or if possible, thrown into their jail cells. They should be permitted twenty-four hours a day of tax-free protest time for many years to come.

And while those mindless animals are rotting in prison (as opposed to rotting outside of prison, which is what they've been doing), they can attempt to answer one question:

Where is the evidence of "racism" in the act of one white police officer shooting a black man, a man with 14 warrants out for his arrest, who resisted arrest, who was running from the police officer, and who the police officer claims appeared as though he were reaching for a weapon?

Or, in layman's terms:

What kind of fucking moron thinks that running from a police officer is a safe form of activity?

Just something to think about.

Signing off,

JR
